Latest News: Titans Release Jamal Adams

On October 17, 2024, the Tennessee Titans released Jamal Adams following his request to be let go from the team. This news came on Adams’ 29th birthday and just three months after he signed with the Titans.

Adams had been placed on the reserve/non-football injury list on October 12, after playing only 20 snaps in three games for the Titans. He missed the season opener due to a hip injury.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Adams requested his release from the Titans, who are off to a 1-4 start this season. Adams confirmed to ESPN that he wasn’t frustrated about not being a starter but wanted an opportunity to contribute more.

This marks the second time in eight months that Adams has been released, following his departure from the Seattle Seahawks in March. The three-time Pro Bowler’s career has been marred by injuries in recent years, limiting his playing time and effectiveness.

Adams’ brief tenure with the Titans ends after signing a one-year deal for the veteran minimum salary of $1.125 million in July. His release leaves him as a free agent, potentially looking for his fourth team in three seasons.
